The Blues are currently sixth in the standings and may need to win their final five games of the season to qualify for the Champions League next term.
Ahead of Saturday's early kick-off, Maresca provided an update on Guiu, who has been on the sidelines for the past few months with a hamstring injury.
The Italian tactician said that the Spaniard is one or two weeks away from a comeback and could be involved during the final phase of the campaign.
He said: "Marc [Guiu] is close. Hopefully one or two weeks he can be with us for the final part of the season."
Chelsea go into the Everton game as favourites, but the Toffees are not an easy team to beat under manager David Moyes. The Blues will have to work hard for three points.
